‘’Christmas Eve Wrestling Extravaganza will showcase our best talents’’ – Olukoya
Secretary General of the Pro- wrestling Africa ( PWA), Olusesan Olukoya, who also is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the World body Golden Wrestling Federacy, has said that the forth coming end of year wrestling extravaganza will showcase the best of talents in the Nigeria and African professional wrestling scenes.
The body, in conjunction with Global Wrestling Federacy based in Florida, United States of America, and African Wrestling Organization, will organize a world class wrestling championship as part of activities marking the end of the year program on Sunday, December, 24
Olukoya explained that the championship slated to hold at the Wrestling Arena at National Stadium Surulere Lagos in Nigeria will showcase wrestlers from Nigeria and some from other countries of the continent.
Speaking ahead of the event at the National Stadium on Thursday, he noted that arrangements are in top gear towards having a successful championship aimed at thrilling fans with the latest style of professional wrestling, awards presentations to those that have contributed to professional wrestling over the years as well as a few stakeholders in the pro wrestling industry.
”We at the PWA, GWF and AWO are working round the clock towards organizing a befitting, successful and hitch free championship where we hope to showcase the best talents in the game. The wrestlers drawn from different parts of the country and some other African nations are getting ready to showcase their talents and give fans something to lighten up their Christmas and end of year celebration. In order to make sure that fans enjoy the best of wrestling, we’ve equally made sure that the gate fees will be affordable with the VIP going for N5,000 while the regular side will attract N2,000. Fans are also guaranteed adequate security, so we look forward to Nigerians trooping out in the thousands to come and be part of the fun and entertainment which the championship will afford them,” he stressed.
Olukoya listed some of the wrestlers that will be on parade as: Mr. Sharpman, 6.5, USA Bing of DR Congo, Black Heritage, De Hardman, Eagle De Great Nail, Rodrick Fred, Jimmy Palm Jr., Alexandra De Queen and Loveth amongst others.
Jimmy Palm “the African Dream” who is in charge of the training of wrestlers also pointed that the championship would be an awesome end of the year timely event considering the preparations and efforts put to it by the management of GWF, PWA and AWO. “Wrestlers from Abuja are training over there at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja but then must report to camp in Lagos a month prior to the event. We need to train together in the morning and evening on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays for wrestling while we will be training on Mondays and Wednesdays for fitness, stamina and body building,” he concluded.
