Australia’s Deathmatch Downunder announces heavyweight championship tournament

Australia’s resident deathmatch promotion has released the full bracket for their upcoming tournament to crown the inaugural DMDU Heavyweight Champion.

The tournament is set to take place over the course of two days at back-to-back shows on May 21st and May 22nd. The double header live show will be known as The Juice is Worth The Squeeze and will be taking place at Arrow on Swanston in Carlton, Victoria, Australia. Here’s a look at the bracket that the company has released for the upcoming championship tournament.

What we know of the tournament so far is that it will include multiple inter-gender matches. All competitors that are active in Deathmatch Downunder will be given a chance to compete for the heavyweight championship, regardless of how they identify which is very cool to see in a championship tournament of this magnitude. As of now, it doesn’t appear as if the tournament itself will consist of deathmatches. That would be quite the test for any competitor to be able to last through three of them in two days and would most likely be impossible to do. It will be interesting to see if the Australian promotion does decide to go the deathmatch route with the championship final, though.

For our Australian readers that are able to attend, tickets are available for the event and can be purchased here.

Best of luck to all of the competitors and to Deathmatch Downunder in crowning their first heavyweight champion!
