Pro wrestling action returns to Pakistan

The recent Covid-19 situation in South Asia forced the surging pro wrestling scene in the area to take a few months long break. However, it appears as if some restrictions are being slowly lifted now, paving the way for some live pro wrestling to start back up in the area.

The Pro Wrestling Federation of Pakistan appears to be the first company in the South Asian country that has had the opportunity to return to the ring. They’ve done so by releasing not one, but two, new episodes of pro wrestling content. The first episode is an episode of the company’s weekly Warzone Wednesday and is headlined by Amjad and former PWFP World Champion Danny. You can watch that episode below.

At the Warzone Wednesday tapings, the PWFP also held a special event that had a limited audience in capacity. Against All Odds, as the show is titled, features another hour of new wrestling from PWFP and is headlined by a tag team match featuring PWFP World Champion RJ Faddy and his tag team partner, Panda, taking on the team of Prince Ahmed and Syed Atif.

The PWFP’s two other champions, hardcore champion AA Junior and PWFP Ring of Slam Champion The Prince, are also featured, with The Prince even defending his ROS title on Against All Odds and AA Junior defending his hardcore championship on Warzone Wednesday.

The events also featured two big returns from wrestlers that got their start competing in PWFP. First was Captain Anees, who was the first ever PWFP Television Champion and also the longest reigning Pakistan Wrestling Production World Champion. The second being Raja Naveed, who had previously been wrestling in Revolution Eastern Wrestling. The last we saw of Raja Naveed was when he was assaulted in REW President Wahib Jamil’s office, pinned to lose his REW Fight or Die Championship title and then was booted from the company altogether. Adding star power is always a good thing and bringing in two men that have held championship titles in Pakistan should only help the PWFP.
