Celebrity Global Wrestling Entertainment set to debut in Nigeria
Former Nigerian kickboxer and MMA talent, Lovethpatra White Ekufu, has joined the league of Nigerian professional wrestling promoters by establishing Celebrity Global Wrestling Entertainment in Lagos, Nigeria. Lovethpatra Young who was the only Nigerian woman fighting at top level in mixed martial arts some years back, started it as a career with fighting bullies off as a child, but her eyes later opened on the UFC to join her ‘Nigerian brothers’ Kamaru Usman and Israel Adesanya.
“We have been able to set up the Sports promoting outfit sincerely with the aims to promote entertainment, sport and tourism, boost the popularity of professional wrestling sport and also showcase the abundant talents in our part of the world while aiding grassroots development and tourism in our part of the world,” explained Lovethpatra.
Celebrity Global Wrestling Entertainment (CGWE) was designed to promote entertainment, sports and tourism. It is an international event that will draw a diverse audience thereby giving room to promote Nigerian professional wrestling talents. Though it was officially founded in February 2024 and powered by Diamond Superstars Promotion, the founder is Lovethpatra White Ekufu, a Kickboxing and MMA world champion and the Managing Director of the Celebrity Global Fight Concert and Diamond Superstars Promotion.

Yes, Nigeria professional wrestling is still very current, coupled with the rave of the moment superstars we have in Nigeria who can raise up their heads against world talents from any continent. I really want to thank my resilient African fighters and promoters for the efforts so far and to let them know that the future is bright for everyone likewise we the promoters.”
“In preparation for our October 2024 pro wrestling championship scheduled to hold in Lagos, Nigeria, we are already in contact with international agents and wrestlers who are already lacing their boots to come to Nigeria for the grunt and groan event.”
“Based on our efforts, in the next five years, Nigeria will be the base for other international wrestlers and that will climax the value of Nigeria wrestlers having international exposure right in front of their audience. This will give more opportunities for Nigeria wrestlers to also be recognized and fight abroad.”
Lovethpatra, who organized a fight concert, models after the American entertainment industry where movie stars are sometimes engaged in combat for entertainment and tourism purposes concluded that: “When you look at the WWE, you see the likes of The Rock, and other Hollywood stars who still go to the cage, or even boxing, all these are to build fraternity in sports.”
